They make it possible to quickly drill holes in solid material without the need for so-called pre-drilling. Thanks to their specific design, these tools are characterized by a very low demand for applied power (30% demand compared to a twist drill). With trepan drill bits, only the peripheral zone of the hole is cut. The drilling operation is much cleaner, as incomparably fewer chips are produced. The drilled holes are smooth and do not require deburring. The "plug" that is formed after the hole is cut can be used as a full-fledged material.
