The thickness of welded materials depends on the power of the welder and the type of material to be welded.Spot weldingThis is a method in which the joining of elements occurs in separate places called points, and one (usually), two or several welds can be formed at the same time.Division of spot welding by the method of supplying current to the elements to be welded:1) two-sided single-point (most commonly used),2) two-sided two-point,3) one-sided one- and two-point.The course of spot welding:- pressing the parts to be joined with the electrodes of the welding machines to each other,- heating of the elements in the place of joining (single-pulse or multi-pulse heating) and the formation of a liquid weld nucleus,- cooling of the weld nucleus and the formation of a homogeneous joint (after switching off the welding),Spot welding parameters:- welding current intensity,- time of current flow,- force of pressure on the electrodes.These parameters are selected depending on: the type of metal, thickness, shape and dimensions of the parts to be welded and the requirements of the structure.There are parameters:- rigid - high current, high pressure force and short time of current flow.Provide high welding efficiency, low power consumption. Used in high-volume production,and the joints have a small heat zone.Soft - lower current, lower clamping force and longer current flow times.They cause the welding process to be slower, resulting in an increase in the width of the heat zone and deformation of the joints. When they are used, there is less possibility of hardening and less tendency for cracks to occur in the joints.
