Welding wire 308 LSi Wed. 1.6 mm TIG austenitic stainless steel rods of ELC grades for TIG welding of stabilized or unstabilized Cr-Ni stainless or heat-resistant steels (AWS A5.9: ER 308LSi). The filler metal has good general corrosion resistance. The low carbon content makes it particularly suitable for situations where there is a risk of intergranular corrosion. The alloy resists intergranular corrosion up to 350°C. In air and oxidizing flue gases, the alloy resists scale formation up to 800°C. The bars have an increased silicon content to improve weldability. The alloy is widely used in the chemical and food industries, as well as for welding pipelines, pipes and boilers.
