EtherCAT TwinSAFE terminal

The component is a digital output terminal with four channels. It switches 24 V DC actuators with up to 0.5 A per channel and has four safe outputs. The outputs are controlled by the component supporting TwinSAFE Logic technology via FSoE. The component automatically shuts down if it detects an error (fail-stop). It is used in Eagle's iNspire, eVision and eSmart machines and also in Crane Master loading and unloading systems when operating the safety system. The terminal has safety parameters to tailor the functionality to the corresponding safety requirements. For example, output current measurement and output test can be configured to detect cross circuits and react accordingly, among other things. In addition, standard outputs can be activated. As a result, the corresponding standard outputs are available in the process image in parallel and internally AND with the safe outputs of the 000078842 card (works with 000078846 and 000078836 cards installed in the machine )The safe output signals, which are controlled by TwinSAFE Logic, emit a safe release of standard signals that can be triggered by the non-safety-oriented control system, independent of the safety controller cycle and FSoE. This allows faster output switching times, provided the safety controller issues the necessary output release. Safety parameters are not written directly to the component, but are sent to the component via a TwinSAFE Logic-enabled component when the safety application is started. This simplifies maintenance procedures because the component can simply be replaced. Safety-relevant parameters are transferred to the new component when the safety application is restarted. Used on Eagle's iNspire, eVision and eSmart models of machines and also on Crane Master loading and unloading systems when operating the safety system.
